                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     Vickie Vogel on the occasion of  her retirement as Fayette County
 1-3     Democratic Party chair; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Vickie Vogel has demonstrated a deep commitment to
 1-5     the citizens of Fayette County; initially chosen for this pivotal
 1-6     role in 1995 by the county's Democratic Executive Committee, she
 1-7     was re-elected by voters in the 1996 and 1998 Democratic primaries;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, This committed public servant has coordinated
1-10     Democratic campaigns in the county since 1980 and she has also
1-11     served as a precinct chair in Hostyn;  as county chair, her
1-12     responsibilities have included recruiting chairs for each of the
1-13     county's 28 precincts, organizing primary elections, coordinating
1-14     political campaigns, and serving as a liaison for state, district,
1-15     and national candidates; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Ms. Vogel's post-retirement plans include
1-17     involvement with the business interests of her extended family and
1-18     traveling with her husband, L. David Vogel; and
1-19           WHEREAS, By donating her time and talents to ensuring an
1-20     efficient and valid election process, Vickie Vogel has greatly
1-21     contributed to the betterment of her community state and her
1-22     efforts in this regard are truly exemplary; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby congratulate Vickie Vogel on her fine tenure as
 2-1     Fayette County Democratic Party chair and extend to her sincere
 2-2     best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for Ms. Vogel as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 2-5     House of Representatives.
