R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Pflugerville's Travis Scott Banks has completed the
 1-2     rigorous requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout,
 1-3     and he is truly deserving of special legislative recognition for
 1-4     this accomplishment; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop 408, Mr. Banks
 1-6     attends Park Crest Middle School, where he is first chair tuba in
 1-7     the symphonic band and plays in the jazz band; he was tapped out
 1-8     for the Order of the Arrow in spring 1998 and was selected to the
 1-9     Brotherhood earlier this year; and
1-10           WHEREAS, In addition to earning the requisite merit badges
1-11     for gaining Eagle Scout status, this notable young man has received
1-12     numerous other scouting honors, including the Mile Swim Award and
1-13     the Arrow of Light; he has served two terms as patrol leader and
1-14     troop scribe and currently holds the post of secretary treasurer of
1-15     the Tomahawk Chapter; and
1-16           WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout service project, Mr. Banks
1-17     designed and constructed a butterfly garden for a Pflugerville
1-18     elementary school; his many achievements have earned him the
1-19     respect and admiration of his family, friends, and fellow scouts,
1-20     particularly that of his parents, Richard and Laura Banks, his
1-21     siblings, Tiffany Ann and James Lewis Clay, and his grandparents,
1-22     Neil and Lillie Gilligan and Geraldine Smith; and
1-23           WHEREAS, In June 1999, this dedicated scout will make the
1-24     Philmont Trek, and the following month he will attend his Eagle
 2-1     Scout Court of Honor, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in paying
 2-2     tribute to this fine young man and recognizing this noteworthy
 2-3     event; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-5     Legislature hereby congratulate Travis Scott Banks on attaining the
 2-6     rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him best wishes for continued
 2-7     success and happiness in all his future endeavors; and, be it
 2-8     further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for Mr. Banks as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2-11     House of Representatives.
