R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The 80th birthday of a notable Texan is indeed an
 1-2     occasion worthy of special recognition, and on March 13, 1999,
 1-3     Nellie M. Roy-Ball of Galveston celebrated this memorable
 1-4     milestone; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Born in Broussard, Louisiana, on March 13, 1919,
 1-6     Mrs. Roy-Ball and her husband moved to Galveston in the early
 1-7     1930s, and until his passing they shared the various
 1-8     responsibilities of providing for and raising their beloved
 1-9     children; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Mrs. Roy-Ball has been a witness to the vast changes
1-11     that have shaped our nation over the past eight decades, and the
1-12     knowledge she has acquired during this time provides a great
1-13     resource for the Ball family and all who know her; and
1-14           WHEREAS, This outstanding Texan has been an inspiration to
1-15     her many friends and numerous family members, including her 18
1-16     grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and it is truly a
1-17     pleasure to join them in honoring her at this time; now, therefore,
1-18     be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby congratulate Nellie M. Roy-Ball on the occasion
1-21     of her 80th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for
1-22     continued happiness; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for Mrs. Roy-Ball as an expression of high regard by the
 2-1     Texas House of Representatives.
