                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, May 7, 1999, marks the ground-breaking on the site
 1-2     of the new Fidelity Investments Southwest Headquarters in Westlake,
 1-3     Texas, and this historic milestone is truly an event worthy of the
 1-4     highest recognition and accolade; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, This grand addition to the city of Westlake and
 1-6     Tarrant County represents years of negotiation and cooperation on
 1-7     the part of numerous citizens from Westlake, Southlake, Roanoke,
 1-8     Keller, Fort Worth, and Tarrant and Denton counties, and the
 1-9     successful inauguration of this project is a tribute to the vision
1-10     and commitment of its supporters; and
1-11           WHEREAS, The goal of the construction of the new Fidelity
1-12     Investments Southwest Headquarters on three hundred acres of land
1-13     in the city of Westlake is to construct an efficient facility that
1-14     will house over 2400 employees yet it also preserve the natural
1-15     beauty and serenity of the pristine lake, oak and pine trees, and
1-16     rolling hills; and
1-17           WHEREAS, The ground-breaking for the new Fidelity Investments
1-18     Southwest Headquarters in Westlake, Texas, will earmark a period of
1-19     phenomenal growth and progress for Northeast Tarrant County that
1-20     will be reflected in a positive economic impact of over 3.8 billion
1-21     dollars during the next decade in the forms of increased commerce
1-22     with Tarrant County vendors, suppliers, contractors, and many other
 2-1     businesses, numerous job opportunities, and increased housing,
 2-2     trade, and revenue for the citizens of Tarrant County; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, Westlake and Tarrant County will also realize the
 2-4     rewards of Fidelity Investment's strong corporate philanthropic
 2-5     philosophy in the forms of special projects that would benefit the
 2-6     community and local non-profit organizations; therefore, be it
 2-7           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-8     Legislature hereby congratulate the citizens of Westlake and
 2-9     Northeast Tarrant county on the ground-breaking of the new site for
2-10     Fidelity Investment's Southwest Division Headquarters; and, be it
2-11     further
2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13     prepared for the people of Westlake and Fidelity Investments as an
2-14     expression of highest regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
