R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, N. G. "Bunky" Whitlow has resided in Round Rock, 1-2 Texas, for 50 years, and during that time he has been unceasing in 1-3 his support of the city of Round Rock and surrounding areas; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A dynamic and industrious member of the community, 1-5 he has held leadership positions with the Round Rock Chamber of 1-6 Commerce, the Old Settlers Association of Williamson County, the 1-7 Kiwanis Club, Palm Valley Lutheran Church, the United Way, YMCA, 1-8 and many other civic organizations; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Whitlow has been instrumental in the creation of 1-10 Round Rock's current thriving business community through his 1-11 considerable efforts as a lender and bank executive during the 1-12 course of his 40-year banking career; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A founding organizer of Frontier Days and other 1-14 celebrations of Round Rock's rich and unique heritage, he was also 1-15 active in the restoration of the city's downtown sector and has 1-16 played a significant role in the preservation of many of the area's 1-17 cultural landmarks; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Mr. Whitlow has lived in Round Rock for half a 1-19 century; he has devoted his time and energy to creating a brighter 1-20 future for the citizens of Round Rock and is indeed worthy of 1-21 special recognition for his many remarkable civic contributions; 1-22 now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby recognize May 18, 1999, as N. G. "Bunky" Whitlow 2-1 Day; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Mr. Whitlow as an expression of high regard by the 2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
