By Hodge H.R. No. 871 76R14683 BE-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The recent passing of Carlos C. Dominguez, Sr., of 1-2 Edroy, on April 26, 1999, at the age of 71, has brought a great 1-3 loss to the family and many friends of this esteemed gentleman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Dominguez was born in Stanford 1-5 on November 4, 1928, and from his earliest days, this proud man 1-6 possessed a work ethic many admired and few could equal; and 1-7 WHEREAS, For a number of years Mr. Dominguez worked between 1-8 Texas and Idaho, traveling with the seasons and transporting 1-9 potatoes, sugar beets, cotton, sorghum, gravel, and caliche; and 1-10 WHEREAS, His determination and energy were rewarded when 1-11 Mr. Dominguez established his own trucking business; on June 4, 1-12 1948, he was rewarded in yet another fashion, as he and his beloved 1-13 wife, Ofilia, were wed and began a life together that would span 1-14 more than 50 years; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dominguez were blessed with the love of 1-16 seven children, six sons and one daughter; their years as a family 1-17 were truly happy ones, filled with much love and many joyful 1-18 memories; and 1-19 WHEREAS, The lessons this remarkable individual has passed 1-20 to his children through his exemplary life of hard work and 1-21 personal responsibility are a valuable legacy; as a businessman, 1-22 husband, and father, there is much in his example for all Texans, 1-23 and it is indeed appropriate to honor his memory at this time; now, 1-24 therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-2 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carlos C. Dominguez, 2-3 Sr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to 2-4 his wife, Ofilia; to his children, Noelia Lopez and Albert, Carlos, 2-5 Rene, Daniel, Jaime, and Benjamin Dominguez, and to their spouses; 2-6 to his brothers, Leno, David, and Lucio Dominguez; to his sisters, 2-7 Andrea Nunez, Cruz Martinez, Rosa Dominguez, Lorena Dominguez, and 2-8 Olivia Hernandez; to his cherished 24 grandchildren and 7 2-9 great-grandchildren; and to all the many friends and family members 2-10 of this respected man; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-13 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-14 Carlos C. Dominguez, Sr.
