R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Henry O. Ager III has been chosen a Hero for
 1-2     Children by the State Board of Education, and in light of this
 1-3     outstanding award, it is indeed fitting that we pay tribute to this
 1-4     distinguished civic leader; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A pharmacist in Livingston, Texas, since 1968,
 1-6     Mr. Ager earned this prestigious award for his many years of
 1-7     outstanding and devoted service in behalf of the children of
 1-8     Livingston and Polk County; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, His worthy community activities include coaching and
1-10     heading up the Livingston Youth Baseball Association, an
1-11     organization that he helped establish in 1976, and coaching the
1-12     Little Dribblers basketball team, which he guided to the National
1-13     Little Dribblers Championship in 1983; and
1-14           WHEREAS, The civic-minded Mr. Ager has also served for 24
1-15     years on the Livingston Independent School District Board of
1-16     Trustees, 23 of those as board president; he has also donated his
1-17     time and support to the Texas Children Lions Camp and Father
1-18     Flanagan's Boys Town and has sponsored some 20 children to attend
1-19     the Arabia Shriner's Circus; and
1-20           WHEREAS, For many years, Henry Ager has distinguished himself
1-21     as a selfless community leader, and it is most fitting to honor him
1-22     for his myriad accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby congratulate Henry O. Ager III on being named a
 2-1     Hero for Children by the State Board of Education and commend him
 2-2     for his many significant civic contributions; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for Mr. Ager as an expression of highest regard by the
 2-5     Texas House of Representatives.
