R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Phillip T. "Phil"
 1-2     Wilson of Bay City were deeply saddened by his passing on April 25,
 1-3     1999, at the age of 77; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born December 29, 1921, in Olivia, Texas, Mr. Wilson
 1-5     attended Palacios High School and served in the United States Army
 1-6     during World War II; he moved in 1945 to Bay City, where he was the
 1-7     owner and operator of Wilson Outdoor Equipment and Wilson Lock and
 1-8     Key Service; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, He shared a lengthy union with his first wife,
1-10     Dorothea, that was blessed with four children; following her death
1-11     he found love again, marrying Adele Gerhard Wilson, and they
1-12     enjoyed a happy and rewarding marriage; and
1-13           WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman was a 30-year member of
1-14     the Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, for which he served as
1-15     president and vice president; he was also active as a member,
1-16     elder, and deacon at First Presbyterian Church, as a member of the
1-17     Bay City Diamond Squares Dance Club for 12 years, the last four as
1-18     president, and as past president of the Golden Coast Council of
1-19     Square Dance Clubs; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson was a life member of the Bay City Lions
1-21     Club, serving as secretary for 28 years; in addition to having an
1-22     impressive 37 years of perfect attendance, he was also  presented
1-23     the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, the highest honor accorded by this
1-24     estimable organization; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Although Phillip T. "Phil" Wilson will be deeply
 2-2     missed, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all
 2-3     those fortunate enough to have known him, and it is indeed fitting
 2-4     to remember him at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Phillip T. "Phil"
 2-7     Wilson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
 2-8     his wife, Adele Gerhard Wilson; to his daughters and sons-in-law,
 2-9     Pam and Gene Klepac, Tricha and Chris Steinmann, and Phyllis and
2-10     Mark Adkins; to his son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Anita Wilson;
2-11     to his sister, Ethel Abraham; to his brother, Ralph T.  Swenson; to
2-12     his brother-in-law, G. G. "Bub" Lawson; to his stepsons, Ralph,
2-13     Allen, Glenn, and Gary Mutchler; to his 13 grandchildren, eight
2-14     stepgrandchildren, and one great grandchild; and to his many other
2-15     relatives and friends; and, be it further
2-16           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-17     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
2-18     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-19     Phillip T. "Phil" Wilson.
