R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The retirement of Flo Weiss Pacharzina from the New
 1-2     Braunfels Independent School District brings to a close the
 1-3     distinguished career of a remarkable woman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native of Kerrville, Texas, Mrs. Pacharzina
 1-5     attended Stephens College in Missouri, Schreiner College in
 1-6     Kerrville, and the University of Colorado at Boulder, before
 1-7     graduating from The University of Texas at Austin in 1958 at the
 1-8     age of 19; she later received a master's degree in guidance
 1-9     counseling from Southwest Texas State University and a
1-10     superintendent's certification; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Beginning in 1961 she taught fourth grade at Tivy
1-12     Elementary in Kerrville, before moving to New Braunfels in 1967 and
1-13     teaching fourth and sixth grades at Lone Star Elementary; in 1971
1-14     Mrs. Pacharzina became the first elementary counselor of the New
1-15     Braunfels Independent School District, and after serving as an
1-16     administrative assistant began her 14-year tenure as the district's
1-17     director of personnel in 1985; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The cofounder of the state Pink Rose organization
1-19     for female Texas school administrators, Mrs. Pacharzina has been
1-20     active in her church, with the LCRA Study Committee, and as a
1-21     member and officeholder in numerous professional organizations;
1-22     this esteemed educator has garnered a host of state and national
1-23     honors and is a proud recipient of the New Braunfels Independent
1-24     School District's Silver Unicorn award; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Throughout the years she has continued to draw
 2-2     strength and inspiration from her husband, Bob Pacharzina, and
 2-3     their three beloved children, L'Jan, D'Layne, and Weston; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, Flo Weiss Pacharzina has distinguished herself as a
 2-5     dedicated and kindhearted woman of ability and integrity, and it is
 2-6     truly fitting that she be honored for her many accomplishments;
 2-7     now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-9     Legislature hereby recognize Flo Weiss Pacharzina on the occasion
2-10     of her retirement and extend to her sincere best wishes for
2-11     continued success and happiness; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13     prepared for Mrs. Pacharzina as an expression of high regard by the
2-14     Texas House of Representatives.
