R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Elizabeth DelBosque of Beeville, who was recently selected by her 1-3 peers to represent them as an American Cancer Society Relay for 1-4 Life honoree; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mrs. DelBosque had been seeking treatment for a 1-6 routine medical problem when she was diagnosed with colon cancer; 1-7 she immediately underwent surgery, which was followed by radiation 1-8 and chemotherapy treatments; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Her strong faith and innate sense of humor helped 1-10 Mrs. DelBosque to triumph over the low points she experienced 1-11 during her treatment; in keeping with her positive outlook, she 1-12 chose to count her blessings, which include her "guardian angel," 1-13 Josie Michael, who recruited drivers to transport Mrs. DelBosque 1-14 from Beeville to her medical appointments in Corpus Christi; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. DelBosque has returned to her post as 1-16 the head cashier at Weiner's department store, where she has been 1-17 employed since 1976; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Elizabeth DelBosque has demonstrated great 1-19 determination, optimism, and perseverance in facing adversity, and 1-20 she serves as an inspiration to all those who are privileged to 1-21 know her; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate Mrs. DelBosque on her selection as 1-24 an American Cancer Society Relay for Life honoree and extend to her 2-1 warmest best wishes for success and happiness in the future; and, 2-2 be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for Mrs. DelBosque as an expression of high regard by the 2-5 Texas House of Representatives.
