R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
 1-2     Clear Lake High School teacher and coach John Bryan for his
 1-3     distinguished career and continued commitment to excellence; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, An esteemed educator and coach for the past 35
 1-5     years, Mr. Bryan earned a bachelor of science degree from Texas
 1-6     Lutheran University and a master of arts degree from the University
 1-7     of Iowa; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, His impressive career began at Queens Intermediate,
 1-9     and he taught at Pasadena High School and at La Porte High School
1-10     before becoming a history teacher and coach at Clear Lake High
1-11     School, where he has served as a popular and influential leader for
1-12     the past 15 years; and
1-13           WHEREAS, In addition to coaching football, cross-country, and
1-14     track, Mr. Bryan has taught advanced placement courses for nine
1-15     years, served as an advanced placement consultant for two years,
1-16     and been a United States history exam reader for five years; and
1-17           WHEREAS, A teacher who can challenge and encourage his
1-18     students is indeed a Texas treasure; Mr. Bryan has  made
1-19     outstanding contributions to his community and to the Lone Star
1-20     State as an educator and coach, and it is fitting to pay tribute to
1-21     him at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby honor John Bryan for his exemplary career as an
1-24     educator and coach and extend to him sincere best wishes for much
 2-1     success and happiness in the future; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-3     prepared for Coach Bryan as an expression of high regard by the
 2-4     Texas House of Representatives.
