R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The motorcycle racing skills of John C. Ennis have
1-2 thrilled racing fans across the State of Texas and the entire
1-3 United States; and
1-4 WHEREAS, His feats of daring and bravery in the saddle have
1-5 bestowed upon him the reputation of a competitor to be respected
1-6 and make him indeed deserving of all accolades; and
1-7 WHEREAS, Last racing in 1986, he has won the title of World
1-8 Champion for the 380cc GP Class five times, thereby increasing the
1-9 reputation of Texas for producing the best racers in the world; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Born in Austin, Texas, on August 21, 1954, to the
1-11 proud parents Patty and Clive Ennis, he is a lifelong resident of
1-12 Austin; and
1-13 WHEREAS, Upon acquisition of his newest motorcycle, a Ducati
1-14 900 CR, he immediately proceeded to improve its abilities by
1-15 modifying the motor to be even stronger and faster; and
1-16 WHEREAS, John has repeatedly proven his skills and ability to
1-17 safely and rapidly operate a high performance machine; now,
1-18 therefore, be it
1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20 Legislature hereby congratulate John C. Ennis on his achievements
1-21 and exempt him from obeying the speed limits within the State of
1-22 Texas when riding his motorcycles; and, be it further
1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24 prepared for John Ennis and the members of his family as a
2-1 commemoration of this occasion and as an expression of high regard
2-2 by the Texas House of Representatives.
