                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell
 1-2     on March 28, 1998, at the age of 52, brought a great loss to the
 1-3     family and friends of this beloved woman, and, following the first
 1-4     anniversary of her death, it is appropriate that we pay tribute to
 1-5     her life; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Georgetown, Mrs. Bizzell was
 1-7     born on February 15, 1946, to Charles Miller and Pauline Ischy
 1-8     Miller; she was baptized on March 24, 1946, at St.  Peter's
 1-9     Lutheran Church in Walburg and at the age of 13 was confirmed at
1-10     Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown; and
1-11           WHEREAS, A Georgetown High School graduate, she began a
1-12     distinguished tenure with the county clerk's office of Williamson
1-13     County in 1966 and was appointed to the county clerk position in
1-14     1991; she won election to that post in 1994 and was running
1-15     unopposed in 1998; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Mrs. Bizzell gave generously of her time and talents
1-17     to her church and community; she served the congregation of Christ
1-18     Lutheran Church as a member of the Altar Guild and the Teller's
1-19     Committee and she assisted with Lutheran World Relief projects and
1-20     the church's blood drives; in addition, she was an active member of
1-21     the Georgetown Kiwanis Club, the Twelve O'Clock Club, and the
1-22     Professional Women of Williamson County; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Mrs. Bizzell enjoyed spending time with her family
1-24     and friends, as well as dancing and fishing, two of her favorite
 2-1     pursuits; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to enjoy the friendship of
 2-3     Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell will long miss her presence, and she
 2-4     will surely be remembered with great affection and admiration for
 2-5     many years to come; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-7     Legislature hereby honor the memory of Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell
 2-8     and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her
 2-9     son, Thomas Bizzell; to her parents, Charles and Pauline Miller; to
2-10     her sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Dickie Gardner,
2-11     Kathleen Owens, Karen and Dickie Whiteaker, and Pam and Dale Pope;
2-12     and to the many other friends and relatives of this fine woman;
2-13     and, be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-15     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
2-16     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-17     Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell.
