R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
 1-2     in recognizing the 1999 graduates of Leadership
 1-3     Hurst-Euless-Bedford (HEB) whose hard work and commitment to
 1-4     personal development as community leaders indeed merit special
 1-5     legislative recognition; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Leadership HEB is a program initiated by the local
 1-7     chamber of commerce to motivate emerging community leaders, develop
 1-8     individual potential for civic responsibility, assure quality
 1-9     leaders for the HEB area, and increase community knowledge; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Meeting once each month for 10 months, participants
1-11     in Leadership HEB explore a range of topics, including regional,
1-12     county, and city governance, transportation, education, public
1-13     safety, healthcare, and economic development; classes are a
1-14     combination of information, problem-solving exercises, and
1-15     leadership development projects; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Members of the graduating class will be honored at a
1-17     luncheon on May 27, 1999, at the Forrest E. Watson Center in
1-18     Euless, and this event will include a motivational message from Ted
1-19     McIlvain, corporate manager of training at Nissan Motor Acceptance
1-20     Corporation; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Those to be honored at the event are Susan Neal, Jon
1-22     Bickel, Katherine Johannessen, Susan Fry, Shannon Hilgart, Mike
1-23     Mason, Nancy Deal, Albert Montero, and Carol Griffith, and in light
1-24     of their success in completing this remarkable program, it is
 2-1     justly fitting to recognize them at this time; now, therefore, be
 2-2     it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-4     Legislature hereby commend the graduates of the 1999 class of
 2-5     Leadership Hurst-Euless-Bedford and extend to all those associated
 2-6     with this exceptional program warmest best wishes.
