R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Blue Bell Creameries of Brenham, for this famed Texas institution 1-3 has greatly enhanced the lives of countless Lone Star residents 1-4 since its founding as the Brenham Creamery Company in 1907; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The initial success of the company's ice cream 1-6 venture in 1911 led ownership to expand the creamery from its 1-7 original role as a butter factory to become a full-fledged producer 1-8 of ice cream, and in 1919, E. F. Kruse took over the company and 1-9 instituted numerous innovations and improvements that have been 1-10 significant factors in Blue Bell's success; since changing the 1-11 company's name to Blue Bell Creameries in 1930, this Texas creamery 1-12 has gone on to establish a vast following of devoted fans; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Today, Mr. Kruse's sons, Ed and Howard Kruse, the 1-14 company's chairman and president, respectively, continue the 1-15 tradition of excellence established by their father, while 1-16 executive vice president John Barnhill, vice president Paul Kruse, 1-17 and Austin branch manager Darrell Schulte also play vital roles in 1-18 the company's growth and development; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Blue Bell Creameries is dedicated to producing 1-20 high-quality ice cream and other frozen snacks for citizens 1-21 throughout the southern United States, and the company's stronghold 1-22 on the Texas market has helped it to achieve the number three 1-23 ranking among ice cream sellers in the nation; and 1-24 WHEREAS, With production of thousands of gallons of ice cream 2-1 per day, the Little Creamery in Brenham has joined the ranks of the 2-2 world's top ice cream producers, and thanks to its continued 2-3 commitment to maintaining the highest standards and using only the 2-4 finest ingredients, Blue Bell Creameries will undoubtedly remain 2-5 Texas' preeminent creamery well into the 21st century; and 2-6 WHEREAS, Throughout the 76th legislative session, Blue Bell 2-7 Creameries has graciously provided the members of this chamber with 2-8 a steady stream of ice cream, and their efforts in this regard have 2-9 undoubtedly helped to ensure that this session will end on a sweet 2-10 and memorable note; now, therefore, be it 2-11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-12 Legislature hereby honor Blue Bell Creameries and offer its sincere 2-13 appreciation to the company for the delicious ice cream it has 2-14 provided to members of the house during this regular session; and, 2-15 be it further 2-16 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-17 prepared for Blue Bell Creameries as an expression of high regard 2-18 by the Texas House of Representatives.
