No. 1018 76R16440 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, April 27, 1999, will forever be a special day in the 1-2 lives of Jane Johnston Mumey and Richard Charles Mumey, for it 1-3 marked the occasion of the birth of their adorable baby daughter, 1-4 Katherine "Kate" Johnston Mumey; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Kate weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 21 1-6 inches in length when she made her debut at 9:50 p.m. at Women's 1-7 Hospital of Texas in Houston; and 1-8 WHEREAS, The eagerly awaited arrival of this beloved new 1-9 Texan has brought great joy to her parents, as well as to her 1-10 godparents, Holly and Tom Thacker and Beverly and Wes Warnke, and 1-11 to the many relatives and friends of the Mumey family; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Kate's parents' relationship began in the halls of 1-13 the State Capitol in 1993 when Mrs. Mumey was working for Senator 1-14 Jerry Patterson and Mr. Mumey was working as the legislative 1-15 director for the Houston Professional Firefighters Association; 1-16 once this dedicated firefighter set his sights on his new flame, 1-17 their relationship quickly ignited and this perfect match were soon 1-18 engaged; and 1-19 WHEREAS, This loving couple was united in matrimony on May 1-20 21, 1994, at Central Christian Church in Austin, and at the time of 1-21 Kate's birth Mrs. Mumey was working for State Representative Ken 1-22 Yarbrough; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Kate will surely thrive in the loving embrace formed 1-24 by her parents, extended family, and friends--a circle that will 2-1 undoubtedly nurture this fine young Texan throughout her life, and 2-2 it is with great pleasure that the members of this chamber formally 2-3 announce her birth; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby officially welcome Katherine "Kate" Johnston 2-6 Mumey as a new citizen of Texas and extend heartfelt 2-7 congratulations to Jane and Richard Mumey on the birth of their 2-8 cherished daughter; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for Kate Johnston Mumey and her parents as an expression 2-11 of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
