R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
1-2 who have shared 25 happy and rewarding years of marriage is indeed
1-3 cause for celebration, and on May 24, 1999, Reverend Paul Brooks
1-4 and Patricia Brooks will observe this significant milestone; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Reverend Brooks and the former Patricia Guynes were
1-6 united in matrimony on May 24, 1974, in Springfield, Missouri, and
1-7 have been blessed with a loving family that includes their two
1-8 sons, Bryan Marcus Brooks and Clayton Louis Brooks, and their
1-9 parents, Dr. and Mrs. Delmer R. Guynes and Mr. and Mrs. Marcus
1-10 Brooks; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Both of these distinguished individuals are
1-12 currently employed at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in
1-13 Waxahachie, where Mr. Brooks serves as vice president for distance
1-14 education and Mrs. Brooks is the executive secretary to the
1-15 president of the university; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Before moving to Waxahachie in 1991, Mr. and
1-17 Mrs. Brooks were youth pastors in Virginia, taught at a Bible
1-18 school in Australia, and spent time pastoring in Clifton, Maryland;
1-19 and in their vocations they have worked together to further the
1-20 development of Christian education and Christian ministry; and
1-21 WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Brooks joined their lives together
1-22 25 years ago, and since that time they have shared a warm and
1-23 enduring relationship that has continued to grow in mutual regard
1-24 and admiration, and they are indeed deserving of special
2-1 recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-3 Legislature hereby honor Reverend Paul Brooks and Patricia Brooks
2-4 on their 25th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
2-5 wishes for even greater happiness in the years to come; and, be it
2-6 further
2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-8 prepared for Reverend and Mrs. Brooks as an expression of high
2-9 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
