No. 1022 76R16803 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Charlotte Roy has worked with the City of Abilene 1-2 for 24 years and, on the occasion of her retirement, it is indeed 1-3 appropriate to recognize her for her exceptional service to her 1-4 fellow citizens; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A native of Abilene, Mrs. Roy began her tenure with 1-6 Abilene Animal Control on June 30, 1975, and currently serves this 1-7 organization as superintendent; for her excellent work she has 1-8 received a variety of accolades, including recognition as Employee 1-9 of the Month, a certificate of appreciation, and an "A Team Award" 1-10 received by her division; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Roy is a charter member of the Texas Animal 1-12 Control Association (TACA), which has enjoyed her dedicated 1-13 professionalism for 24 years, and she currently serves that 1-14 organization as state treasurer; she was instrumental in 1-15 establishing the Certified Euthanasia Technician program for local 1-16 animal control officers and has been given the Warren Kilpatrick 1-17 Award and several Presidential Citations for her contributions to 1-18 TACA; and 1-19 WHEREAS, This noteworthy woman has served her community in 1-20 myriad ways, including as the chair of the employee and department 1-21 safety committees and as the chair of the department United Way 1-22 drive; she is a past president of Western Little League and is 1-23 presently District V Little League treasurer and a member and 1-24 officer of the Order of the Eastern Star; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Mrs. Roy is the devoted mother of two sons, Barry 2-2 and Chuck, and the proud grandmother of one grandson, Nicholas; and 2-3 it is with great pride that she informs her friends and family of 2-4 her desire to have Nicholas become an Aggie and follow in the 2-5 footsteps of his father and his uncle; and 2-6 WHEREAS, The exceptional career of Charlotte Roy has earned 2-7 her the respect and admiration of her friends, family, colleagues, 2-8 and community, and it is truly a pleasure to honor her for her many 2-9 years of dedicated service to Abilene Animal Control and the City 2-10 of Abilene; now, therefore, be it 2-11 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-12 Legislature hereby commend Charlotte Roy for her achievements and 2-13 loyal service to the City of Abilene and extend to her sincere best 2-14 wishes for success and happiness in her retirement; and, be it 2-15 further 2-16 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-17 prepared for Mrs. Roy as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-18 House of Representatives.
