R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Knox County Judge David Perdue has served as 1-2 president of every professional state and regional association in 1-3 local county government, a feat unmatched by any county official in 1-4 the history of the State of Texas; and 1-5 WHEREAS, His knowledge and expertise have greatly benefited a 1-6 number of Lone Star organizations, for he has led the West Central 1-7 Texas Council of Governments, the Texas Association of Regional 1-8 Councils of Government, and the Texas Association of Counties; and 1-9 WHEREAS, He has also demonstrated his leadership by serving 1-10 as president of the West Texas County Judges and Commissioners 1-11 Association, the County Judges and Commissioners Association of 1-12 Texas, and the Aspermont Small Business Development Center; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A Knox City native, this admirable Texan graduated 1-14 from Stephen F. Austin University with a bachelor's degree and a 1-15 master's degree in education; in addition to his work as a public 1-16 servant, he has served as teacher, coach, college administrator, 1-17 and business owner, and as executive director of the State Trade 1-18 Association; and 1-19 WHEREAS, County Judge Perdue has held his current post since 1-20 1985, during which time he has overseen the administration of the 1-21 county's affairs with the utmost integrity and distinction, and has 1-22 earned the respect and admiration of the citizens he serves; and 1-23 WHEREAS, The countless hours and immeasurable service County 1-24 Judge Perdue has committed to the betterment of his state and Knox 2-1 County indeed merit special recognition at this time; now, 2-2 therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby commend the exemplary career of Knox County 2-5 Judge David Perdue and recognize him for his unique accomplishment; 2-6 and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-8 prepared for County Judge Perdue as an expression of high regard by 2-9 the Texas House of Representatives.
