R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Brownwood High School FFA Range and Pasture team
1-2 recently won first place in the 48th annual National Land and Range
1-3 Judging Contest, and this significant accomplishment is indeed
1-4 worthy of special recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Under the guidance of advisor Ben Ellebracht, the
1-6 Brownwood High School team won district, area, and state contests
1-7 before claiming top honors at the national competition held at the
1-8 Concho Indian Reservation in Oklahoma; in earning the school's
1-9 first national title, team members were required to demonstrate an
1-10 extensive knowledge of the principles of ecology, including the
1-11 relationships between soil, plants, animals, and land resources;
1-12 and
1-13 WHEREAS, This outstanding national triumph would not have
1-14 been possible without the contributions of all the dedicated team
1-15 members, including Chris Hathcock, Sammy Modgling, Forrest Smith,
1-16 Michael Willson, and Brad Porter, who claimed the competition's
1-17 high-point individual honors; and
1-18 WHEREAS, The hard work and dedication of the members of the
1-19 Brownwood High School FFA Range and Pasture team are truly
1-20 commendable, and it is most fitting to honor them at this time;
1-21 now, therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Brownwood High
1-24 School FFA Range and Pasture team and their advisor, Ben
2-1 Ellebracht, for winning first place in the 48th annual National
2-2 Land and Range Judging Contest and extend to them sincere best
2-3 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-5 prepared for the Brownwood High School FFA Range and Pasture team
2-6 and Mr. Ellebracht as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2-7 House of Representatives.
