R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 The Woodlands High School Lady Highlanders golf team for earning 1-3 second place at the 1999 UIL Class 5A State High School 1-4 Championship Golf Tournament; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Under the skillful guidance of Coach Janean Murphy, 1-6 the Lady Highlanders posted scores of 311 and 318 at the state 1-7 tournament held at Roy Kizer Golf Course in Austin; their two-day 1-8 total of 629 garnered them second place honors for the third 1-9 straight year; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The Woodlands team was paced by Katie Futcher, who 1-11 shot rounds of 70 and 73 to claim the 1999 UIL Class 5A individual 1-12 state title; the other Lady Highlanders who were instrumental in 1-13 the team's success include Melissa Murray, who also posted two 1-14 rounds in the 70s and finished tied for 17th, Jaclynn Richardson, 1-15 who tied for 21st, Tara Northcutt, and Jennifer Overbeck; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The dedication and competitive spirit of all the 1-17 members of The Woodlands High School Lady Highlanders golf team are 1-18 truly commendable, and it is indeed appropriate to pay tribute to 1-19 them for their noteworthy achievements; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby congratulate the members of The Woodlands High 1-22 School Lady Highlanders golf team for their silver medal winning 1-23 performance at the 1999 UIL Class 5A State High School Championship 1-24 Golf Tournament and extend to them sincere best wishes for 2-1 continued success; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for The Woodlands High School Lady Highlanders golf team 2-4 as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-5 Representatives.
