                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for a
 1-2     celebration, and on April 10, 1999, Lyle and Ethel Winje of Midland
 1-3     marked one such significant milestone with a renewal of their
 1-4     wedding vows and a reception hosted by their children; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. Winje and the former Ethel Grindahl were married
 1-6     on April 19, 1949, in Miami, Florida; the couple have enjoyed a
 1-7     happy and rewarding relationship throughout their marriage, and
 1-8     they have been blessed with seven children and 14 grandchildren;
 1-9     and
1-10           WHEREAS, Before moving to Midland in 1980, this devoted
1-11     couple lived in Appleton, Minnesota; Mrs. Winje is retired from the
1-12     Midland Independent School District and Mr. Winje was employed with
1-13     the City of Midland before his retirement; and
1-14           WHEREAS, For five decades, Mr. and Mrs. Winje have shared
1-15     many happy times and cherished family memories; their commitment to
1-16     each other is a source of great pride to their family and friends,
1-17     and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time;
1-18     now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby congratulate Lyle and Ethel Winje on the
1-21     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
1-22     warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Winje as an expression of high regard by
 2-1     the Texas House of Representatives.
