                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for a
 1-2     celebration, and O. R. and Viola Glenn of Stanton recently marked
 1-3     one such significant milestone with a reception hosted by their
 1-4     children; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. Glenn and the former Viola Boyce were married on
 1-6     April 23, 1949, in Canyon; through the years the Glenns have
 1-7     enjoyed a union based on mutual love, trust, and respect, and they
 1-8     have been blessed with five children, 14 grandchildren, and nine
 1-9     great-grandchildren; and
1-10           WHEREAS, In the early years of their marriage, the Glenns
1-11     lived in Lamesa, Big Spring, and Midland before making their home
1-12     in Stanton in 1958; they are faithful members of First Baptist
1-13     Church of Stanton, where Mr. Glenn has served as a deacon for 41
1-14     years; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Now retired, Mrs. Glenn had a 35-year career as a
1-16     beautician; Mr. Glenn retired in 1973 as a dairyman and was then
1-17     employed for a decade by Franklin and Son, Inc., of Stanton; he
1-18     also served on the board of directors of the American Dairy
1-19     Association and AMPI; and
1-20           WHEREAS, For 50 years, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn have enjoyed  many
1-21     happy times and cherished family memories; their commitment to each
1-22     other is a source of great pride to their family and friends, and
1-23     it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time; now,
1-24     therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-2     Legislature hereby congratulate O. R. and Viola Glenn on the
 2-3     occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
 2-4     sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Glenn as an expression of high regard by
 2-7     the Texas House of Representatives.
