                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
 1-2     who have shared 64 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
 1-3     memorable occasion worthy of honor and praise; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, C. E. and Catherine Adams of Midland recently had
 1-5     the privilege of celebrating such an event in their lives when they
 1-6     observed this special day on March 30, 1999; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Adams were united in matrimony on March
 1-8     30, 1935, in Fort Worth; in 1949 the couple moved from Fort Worth
 1-9     to Midland, where Mr. Adams  was employed as an electrician and
1-10     Mrs. Adams was a dedicated homemaker; and
1-11           WHEREAS, This charming couple has been blessed with three
1-12     children, Norma Skelton, Otis E. Adams, and James E. Adams, and
1-13     through the years they have also had the pleasure of welcoming six
1-14     grandchildren and four great-grandchildren into the family fold;
1-15     and
1-16           WHEREAS, Faithful members of West Side Church of Christ,
1-17     Mr. and Mrs. Adams have enjoyed membership in this congregation
1-18     since they helped to establish it in 1955; in addition, Mr. Adams
1-19     has been a member of the IBEW and BRT union since 1943; and
1-20           WHEREAS, For more than six decades, C. E. and Catherine Adams
1-21     have shared a warm and affectionate relationship filled with many
1-22     happy times and cherished family memories, and it is most fitting
1-23     that they be recognized at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby honor C. E. and Catherine Adams on the occasion
 2-2     of their 64th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
 2-3     wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Adams as an expression of high regard by
 2-6     the Texas House of Representatives.
