R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Angie Garza has recently won election as mayor pro
1-2 tem for the City of La Joya, and her desire to serve her fellow
1-3 citizens as a public official makes her most worthy of special
1-4 legislative recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, A democratic form of government depends on the
1-6 informed participation of its people, and foremost among the
1-7 system's participants are those dedicated men and women who are
1-8 willing to make the sacrifices necessary to take on the role of
1-9 public servant; and
1-10 WHEREAS, The demands of public office are great, and the
1-11 rewards are not always immediately apparent; public servants must
1-12 continually balance the needs of their constituents with the best
1-13 use of available resources, and few issues are easily resolved; and
1-14 WHEREAS, In taking on this difficult challenge, Angie Garza
1-15 has joined the proud tradition of citizen leadership that has been
1-16 our nation's trademark for more than two centuries, and she can
1-17 take justifiable pride in the role she has played in this noble
1-18 legacy; now, therefore, be it
1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20 Legislature hereby congratulate Angie Garza on her recent election
1-21 as mayor pro tem for the City of La Joya and extend to her warmest
1-22 best wishes for future success; and, be it further
1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24 prepared for Angie Garza as an expression of high regard by the
2-1 Texas House of Representatives.
