R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Jose "Nievitos" Villalon has recently won election
 1-2     as commissioner for Sullivan City, and his desire to serve his
 1-3     fellow citizens as a public official makes him worthy of special
 1-4     legislative recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A democratic form of government depends on the
 1-6     informed participation of its people, and foremost among the
 1-7     system's participants are those dedicated men and women who are
 1-8     willing to make the sacrifices necessary to take on the role of
 1-9     public servant; and
1-10           WHEREAS, The demands of public office are great, and the
1-11     rewards are not always immediately apparent; public servants must
1-12     continually balance the needs of their constituents with the best
1-13     use of available resources, and few issues are easily resolved; and
1-14           WHEREAS, In taking on this difficult challenge, Jose
1-15     "Nievitos" Villalon has joined the proud tradition of citizen
1-16     leadership that has been our nation's trademark for more than two
1-17     centuries, and he can take justifiable pride in the role he has
1-18     played in this noble legacy; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby congratulate Jose "Nievitos" Villalon on his
1-21     recent election as commissioner for Sullivan City and extend to him
1-22     warmest best wishes for future success; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for Jose "Nievitos" Villalon as an expression of high
 2-1     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
