R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Hector Anthony Garcia has been selected as one of 1-2 the Top 10 seniors at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) by 1-3 a committee composed of UTEP alumni, faculty, and students; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Each year UTEP recognizes 10 seniors for superlative 1-5 academic achievement and extraordinary volunteer participation, and 1-6 Mr. Garcia is an exemplary student who is indeed deserving of 1-7 special recognition; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia graduated from Eastwood High School and 1-9 attended Austin Community College before transferring to The 1-10 University of Texas at El Paso; while attending UTEP he combined 1-11 hard work and diligence to succeed in establishing a 3.74 GPA; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Creating a family tradition by following in his 1-13 father's footsteps, he will graduate with a bachelor's degree in 1-14 psychology; and 1-15 WHEREAS, In addition to his outstanding academic record, 1-16 Mr. Garcia has had several manuscripts published, including an 1-17 article he co-wrote with William G. Weaver titled "Neo-Darwinian 1-18 Analysis of Corporate Morality and Agency"; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Hector Anthony Garcia is a young man who has 1-20 demonstrated determination in the pursuit of his education, and his 1-21 energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to a worthy goal typify the 1-22 finest qualities of our state's young people; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby commend Hector Anthony Garcia on his selection 2-1 as a Top 10 senior at The University of Texas at El Paso and for 2-2 his many noteworthy achievements; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard and best 2-5 wishes for the future from the Texas House of Representatives.
