R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
1-2 congratulate Collin Gloor of Goliad on reaching his five-year goal
1-3 of earning 1,000 Accelerated Reader points, and his accomplishment
1-4 is indeed worthy of special recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, This fine young man is the first student at Goliad
1-6 Elementary School to attain this literary distinction, and his
1-7 noteworthy achievement will be recognized at an awards ceremony on
1-8 May 27, 1999; and
1-9 WHEREAS, To further commemorate his achievement, First Lady
1-10 Laura Bush will sign Collin's favorite book, a Civil War story
1-11 called Rifles for Waite; and
1-12 WHEREAS, In addition to his excellence in reading, this
1-13 remarkable young man maintains an admirable grade point average and
1-14 participates in after-school sports programs; Collin has earned
1-15 the highest award available for a Webelo Scout and he is active in
1-16 the children's activities offered by his church; and
1-17 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan exemplifies dedication,
1-18 perseverance, and self-discipline in pursuit of his goals, and he
1-19 serves as an inspiring example to his fellow students; now,
1-20 therefore, be it
1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-22 Legislature hereby congratulate Collin Gloor on attaining his goal
1-23 of earning 1,000 Accelerated Reader points and extend to him
1-24 warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
2-1 further
2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-3 prepared for Collin Gloor as an expression of high regard by the
2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
