No. 1220 76R15664 BE-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great 1-2 pleasure in recognizing Clarence Wayne and Betty Lou Rach of Corpus 1-3 Christi on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Mr. Rach was born in Orange and graduated from Freer 1-5 High School in 1956; Mrs. Rach was born in Corpus Christi, raised 1-6 on cattle ranches, and also attended Freer High School; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rach met on a double date and were 1-8 married on May 29, 1959, at the Freer First Baptist Church with the 1-9 Reverend Allen Oubre officiating; Robert Grover Cleveland served as 1-10 best man and Tootie Whitley was maid of honor at the ceremony that 1-11 began the Rachs' life together; and 1-12 WHEREAS, After Mr. Rach completed his degree in petroleum 1-13 engineering from Texas A&I University, the couple lived in 1-14 Nebraska, where their daughter, Lauri Ann, was born, and in New 1-15 Mexico, where their son, Robert Wayne, was born, before returning 1-16 to Texas and making their home in Corpus Christi; the love and 1-17 memories they have shared through the years continue to warm and 1-18 brighten their lives, particularly as the children have begun 1-19 families of their own and Mr. and Mrs. Rach have their four 1-20 grandchildren and other family members near; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Mr. Rach continues a long and respected career with 1-22 CTR Petroleum, and Mrs. Rach works in retail sales; the couple 1-23 enjoys camping in the Rocky Mountains each summer and spending time 1-24 with their family; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Throughout their four decades together, Mr. and 2-2 Mrs. Rach have set an inspirational example of loving unity for 2-3 their friends and loved ones, and it is a pleasure to join in 2-4 honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-6 Legislature hereby congratulate Clarence Wayne and Betty Lou Rach 2-7 on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary and extend to 2-8 this couple warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 2-9 further 2-10 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-11 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rach as an expression of high regard by 2-12 the Texas House of Representatives.
