                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
 1-2     in recognizing the House Research Organization, for its dedicated
 1-3     staff members and their tremendous efforts throughout the 76th
 1-4     legislative session are indeed deserving of special legislative
 1-5     recognition; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, The House Research Organization is an independent
 1-7     and impartial administrative department that offers a broad variety
 1-8     of legislative services, from helping new representatives become
 1-9     familiar with the Capitol and its processes to facilitating
1-10     members' floor debates; and
1-11           WHEREAS, The organization provides vital factual and analytic
1-12     information in concisely formatted reports analyzing important
1-13     legislation generated by the house; these daily analyses and
1-14     digests cover nearly 1,000 bills and joint resolutions each
1-15     session; and
1-16           WHEREAS, In addition, the House Research Organization
1-17     continues its work throughout the legislative interim, issuing
1-18     special reports examining state budget proposals and covering a
1-19     wide array of state issues; many of these reports and summaries are
1-20     now available to the public on the Internet, allowing Texans
1-21     outside of the Capitol access to these valuable information
1-22     resources; and
1-23           WHEREAS, The organization's talented and competent staff
1-24     includes director Tom Whatley, editor Greg Martin, associate editor
 2-1     Mary Lenz, office manager Rita Barr, senior researchers Kellie
 2-2     Dworaczyk, John J. Goodson, Ann Walther, and Kristie Zamrazil,
 2-3     researchers Josh Allen, Jeff Blaylock, Heather Brandon, Carrie
 2-4     Collier, Marcelo Guevara, Robert D. Puente, Cole Spainhour, and
 2-5     Amanda Toering, and intern Jessica Gonzalez; and
 2-6           WHEREAS, The outstanding professionalism and exceptional
 2-7     abilities of each individual in the House Research Organization
 2-8     have contributed immeasurably to a successful legislative session
 2-9     and a more efficient, informed state government, and it is a great
2-10     pleasure to join in saluting these dedicated state employees at
2-11     this time; now, therefore, be it
2-12           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-13     Legislature hereby commend the House Research Organization and its
2-14     capable staff for their extraordinary legislative service and
2-15     extend to all those associated with the organization warmest best
2-16     wishes; and, be it further
2-17           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-18     prepared for each member of the organization as an expression of
2-19     highest regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
