R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
 1-2     in recognizing the 10th anniversary of the Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. (Youth
 1-3     Organization United To Help) program; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. is a nonprofit, grassroots
 1-5     organization created to offer support to area youth in an effort to
 1-6     help meet the emotional, educational, and physical needs of area
 1-7     young people; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Through the years, membership in Aldine Y.O.U.T.H.
 1-9     has grown to include more than 500 parents, youths, and other
1-10     community residents; the organization offers a broad variety of
1-11     services and programs, including sports and special interest
1-12     classes, tutoring, a WIC program, GED and ESL classes, a food and
1-13     bread bank, and an eight-week summer program that provides
1-14     participants with free lunches; and
1-15           WHEREAS, The Corporate Fund for Children named Aldine
1-16     Y.O.U.T.H. a "Best of Texas" program in 1995, and the following
1-17     year the Washington Times Foundation honored the organization with
1-18     the National Service Award; and
1-19           WHEREAS, For her exemplary leadership of Aldine Y.O.U.T.H.,
1-20     executive director and founder Sylvia Bolling has been featured in
1-21     Women's Day magazine and cited with numerous honors, including the
1-22     Scholars Award for Excellence in Humanitarianism, the Governor's
1-23     Volunteer Service Family Award, the Jefferson Award for exemplary
1-24     community service, and Warner Cable's Hometown Heroes Award; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, In just 10 years, the staff and volunteers of Aldine
 2-2     Y.O.U.T.H. have accomplished a great deal, and it is most
 2-3     appropriate to salute their selfless efforts  at this time; now,
 2-4     therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby recognize Aldine Y.O.U.T.H. on the occasion of
 2-7     its 10th anniversary and extend to all those involved with this
 2-8     noteworthy group best wishes for continued success; and, be it
 2-9     further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for Aldine Y.O.U.T.H.  as an expression of high regard by
2-12     the Texas House of Representatives.
