R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State
 1-2     of Texas, 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999, That House Rule
 1-3     13, Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule
 1-4     13, Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to
 1-5     resolve the differences between the house and senate versions of
 1-6     H.B. No. 2954, relating to the application of the sunset review
 1-7     process to certain state agencies, to consider and take action on
 1-8     the following matters:
 1-9           House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(4), is suspended to permit the
1-10     committee to add a section to the bill that amends Section 571.022,
1-11     Government Code, to read as follows:
1-12           SECTION ____.  TEXAS ETHICS COMMISSION.  Section 571.022,
1-13     Government Code, is amended to read as follows:
1-14           Sec. 571.022.  SUNSET PROVISION.  The commission is subject
1-15     to review under Chapter 325 (Texas Sunset Act), but is not
1-16     abolished under that chapter.  The commission shall be reviewed
1-17     during the periods in which state agencies abolished in 2003 [2001]
1-18     and every 12th year after that year [2001] are reviewed.
1-19           Explanation:  This change is necessary to give the Texas
1-20     Ethics Commission sufficient time to implement, before the
1-21     commission undergoes sunset review, a system for the electronic
1-22     reporting of certain political contributions and political
1-23     expenditures.
