R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Jorge Salomon Maldonado of Harlingen will celebrate
 1-2     his 40th birthday on June 27, 1999, and this memorable occasion is
 1-3     indeed worthy of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. Maldonado attended Harlingen High School and
 1-5     Texas A&M University before graduating from Texas A&I University in
 1-6     1982; that same year he had another occasion to celebrate as he was
 1-7     united in matrimony with the former Maria del Rosario Rodriguez;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, This dedicated individual has helped to bolster
1-10     Harlingen's economy and provide employment opportunities for his
1-11     fellow citizens through his position at Tex-Steel Corporation and
1-12     through his own business, Distinctive Builders; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. Maldonado gives freely of his time as a member
1-14     of various civic organizations and as a volunteer with local youth
1-15     sports in Harlingen; in addition, he and his family maintain an
1-16     active membership at St. Anthony's Church and work hard to help
1-17     those in their community who are in need of assistance; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Possessed of a strong sense of family values,
1-19     Mr. Maldonado has effected positive change through his teamwork
1-20     with his father and brothers and through a valued partnership with
1-21     his wife, Rosie, with whom he has provided loving guidance for
1-22     their three children, Christopher Ivan, Nicholas Lyle, and
1-23     Cassandra Ann; and
1-24           WHEREAS, Mr. Maldonado has long devoted himself to his family
 2-1     and to his community; in doing so he has touched the lives of many
 2-2     people, and it is truly appropriate that he be honored at this
 2-3     time; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-5     Legislature hereby congratulate Jorge Salomon Maldonado on the
 2-6     occasion of his 40th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes
 2-7     for continued happiness; and, be it further
 2-8           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-9     prepared for Mr. Maldonado as an expression of high regard by the
2-10     Texas House of Representatives.
