No. 1323 76R17565(4) JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Stephanie Renee Hinojosa has earned the distinction 1-2 of being the valedictorian at Rio Hondo High School, and for 1-3 achieving this auspicious honor, she is truly deserving of special 1-4 legislative recognition; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Earning the right to call oneself "valedictorian" 1-6 requires not only intellect and aptitude, but four years of 1-7 dedication to the highest academic standards; the valedictorian 1-8 must display a firm understanding of the entire curriculum, from 1-9 math and science to language arts to social studies, while 1-10 demonstrating an unwavering commitment to education; and 1-11 WHEREAS, The valedictorian serves as a role model and leads 1-12 by example, combining a steadfast vision of excellence with a 1-13 tenacious enthusiasm; the competition for this coveted honor is 1-14 often fierce, although the spirit of the rivalry remains rooted in 1-15 a tradition of goodwill, and the rewards of the countless hours of 1-16 study and preparation are myriad; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Ms. Hinojosa has earned the respect and admiration 1-18 of her friends and classmates at Rio Hondo High School, and her 1-19 example will no doubt inspire her fellow graduates to recognize and 1-20 appreciate the many possibilities available to them as they begin 1-21 this exciting new chapter in their lives; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Renee Hinojosa on being 1-24 named Rio Hondo High School's 1999 valedictorian and commend her 2-1 dedication to academic excellence; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Ms. Hinojosa as an expression of high regard by the 2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
