                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Lisa N. Marx of Fort Worth
 1-2     on May 13, 1999,  at the age of 50, has brought a great loss to the
 1-3     many friends and relatives of this beloved woman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mrs. Marx was a valued employee of the Haltom City
 1-5     State Farm Agency, and she was a co-owner of Proof Positive Video
 1-6     Services in Fort Worth; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Her lifelong passion for music was expressed through
 1-8     several creative outlets; as an instrumentalist she performed with
 1-9     orchestras and bands in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Riverside, California,
1-10     and Fort Worth, and she directed more than 60 youths and adults in
1-11     four handbell choirs as English handbell director at First United
1-12     Methodist Church of Fort Worth; and
1-13           WHEREAS, For 14 years, Mrs. Marx sang alto in the chancel
1-14     choir of her church, and she performed with the choir in concerts
1-15     in Great Britain, South Texas, and most recently, Carnegie Hall;
1-16     during the past decade, Mrs. Marx sang in the Southwestern Baptist
1-17     Theological Seminary Community Oratorio Chorus and performed with
1-18     the Fort Worth Symphony at Bass Hall, the Morton Meyerson Symphony
1-19     Center, the Tarrant County Convention Center, and Fair Park Music
1-20     Hall, in addition to regular concerts at the seminary; and
1-21           WHEREAS, This esteemed woman enjoyed a happy and rewarding
1-22     relationship  with her devoted husband of 31 years, Ken Marx, and
1-23     enjoyed his support in all her myriad endeavors; and
1-24           WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share the friendship of
 2-1     Mrs. Marx will long miss her lovely voice, keen wit, and generous
 2-2     spirit, and she will surely be remembered with great affection and
 2-3     admiration for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-5     Legislature hereby honor the memory of Lisa N. Marx and extend
 2-6     deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Ken
 2-7     Marx; to her sister, Leah Thomas; to her brother, Gregg
 2-8     Brandyberry; and to the many other friends and relatives of this
 2-9     remarkable woman; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
2-12     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-13     Lisa N. Marx.
