No. 1367 76R17391 PCM-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, In his role as executive assistant to the speaker, 1-2 Barry Miller has contributed immeasurably to the work of the house 1-3 this session, and it is a great privilege to honor him at this 1-4 time; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A vital member of the Laney team during a period 1-6 that spans more than a quarter-century, this esteemed gentleman is 1-7 completing his third session as executive assistant, and his 1-8 insight and expertise on all matters legislative are surpassed only 1-9 by his passion for the state he is proud to call home; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Unwilling or unable to rest while pressing affairs 1-11 of state await his attention, Mr. Miller arrives at the crack of 1-12 dawn each day, ready to work on until the wee hours of the morning 1-13 to effect compromise and to assist the speaker in providing house 1-14 members with the resources they need to serve their constituents; 1-15 and 1-16 WHEREAS, Mr. Miller's knowledge of the legislative process is 1-17 legendary, and within the confines of his office, he serves not 1-18 only as a critical link to the speaker but also as a valuable 1-19 resource for the members, assisting them with their legislative 1-20 programs by providing them with the prudent counsel they have come 1-21 to rely on from this seasoned veteran; and 1-22 WHEREAS, For 140 days each session, Barry Miller does his 1-23 level best to ensure that this chamber will run like a well-oiled 1-24 machine, and house members undoubtedly rest easier knowing that 2-1 this respected gentleman is continually on the job working his 2-2 special magic behind the scenes; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby commend Barry Miller for his outstanding 2-5 contributions to the legislative process and extend to him sincere 2-6 best wishes for a productive and rewarding interim; and, be it 2-7 further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mr. Miller as an expression of high regard by the 2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
