AN ACT 1-1 relating to the payment of costs in a proceeding for court-ordered 1-2 mental health services. 1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-4 SECTION 1. Section 571.018, Health and Safety Code, is 1-5 amended by adding Subsection (j) to read as follows: 1-6 (j) When an inpatient mental health facility as defined 1-7 under Section 571.003(9)(B) or (E) files an affidavit with the 1-8 clerk of the court certifying that it has received no compensation 1-9 or reimbursement for the treatment of a person for whom court costs 1-10 have been paid or advanced, the judge of the probate court shall 1-11 order the clerk of the court to refund the costs. 1-12 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-13 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-14 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-15 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-16 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-17 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-18 passage, and it is so enacted. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I hereby certify that S.B.
