                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                       AN ACT
 1-1     relating to the redesignation of County Court at Law No. 1 of
 1-2     Collin County as Probate Court of Collin County.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1.  Section 25.0451, Government Code, is amended to
 1-5     read as follows:
 1-6           Sec. 25.0451.  COLLIN COUNTY.  (a)  Collin County has the
 1-7     following statutory county courts:
 1-8                 (1)  [County Court at Law No. 1 of Collin County;]
 1-9                 [(2)]  County Court at Law No. 2 of Collin County;
1-10                 (2) [(3)]  County Court at Law No. 3 of Collin County;
1-11     and
1-12                 (3) [(4)]  County Court at Law No. 4 of Collin County.
1-13           (b)  Collin County has one statutory probate court, the
1-14     Probate Court of Collin County.
1-15           SECTION 2.  (a)  County Court at Law No. 1 of Collin County
1-16     is redesignated as the Probate Court of Collin County.
1-17           (b)  The judge of County Court at Law No. 1 of Collin County
1-18     is the judge of the Probate Court of Collin County.
1-19           SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-20           SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-21     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-22     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-23     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-24     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
