 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to the redesignation of County Court at Law No. 1 of
 1-9     Collin County as Probate Court of Collin County.
1-10           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11           SECTION 1.  Section 25.0451, Government Code, is amended to
1-12     read as follows:
1-13           Sec. 25.0451.  COLLIN COUNTY.  (a)  Collin County has the
1-14     following statutory county courts:
1-15                 (1)  [County Court at Law No. 1 of Collin County;]
1-16                 [(2)]  County Court at Law No. 2 of Collin County;
1-17                 (2) [(3)]  County Court at Law No. 3 of Collin County;
1-18     and
1-19                 (3) [(4)]  County Court at Law No. 4 of Collin County.
1-20           (b)  Collin County has one statutory probate court, the
1-21     Probate Court of Collin County.
1-22           SECTION 2.  (a)  County Court at Law No. 1 of Collin County
1-23     is redesignated as the Probate Court of Collin County.
1-24           (b)  The judge of County Court at Law No. 1 of Collin County
1-25     is the judge of the Probate Court of Collin County.
1-26           SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-27           SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-28     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-29     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-30     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-31     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
