No. 397 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed February 4, 1999; February 8, 1999, 1-3 read first time and referred to Committee on Human Services; 1-4 February 17, 1999, reported favorably by the following vote: Yeas 1-5 5, Nays 0; February 17, 1999, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to information included in the Texas Information and 1-9 Referral Network. 1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-11 SECTION 1. Subsection (b), Section 531.0312, Government 1-12 Code, is amended to read as follows: 1-13 (b) A health and human services agency or a public or 1-14 private entity receiving state-appropriated funds to provide health 1-15 and human services shall provide the Texas Information and Referral 1-16 Network with information about the health and human services 1-17 provided by the agency or entity for inclusion in the statewide 1-18 information and referral network. The agency or entity shall 1-19 provide the information in a form determined by the commissioner 1-20 and shall update the information at least quarterly. 1-21 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-22 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-23 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-24 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-25 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-26 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-27 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-28 * * * * *
