                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the reporting duties of emergency services districts
 1-3     and rural fire prevention districts.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Section 775.036(d), Health and Safety Code, is
 1-6     amended to read as follows:
 1-7           (d)  Subsection (a)(4) does not apply to the board of a
 1-8     district located wholly in one county [The board of a district
 1-9     located wholly in one  county shall include in the report required
1-10     under Subsection (a)(4):]
1-11                 [(1)  the number and type of emergency responses made
1-12     within and outside the district;]
1-13                 [(2)  a listing of all debt incurred by the district;
1-14     and]
1-15                 [(3)  any other financial matter required by order of
1-16     the commissioners court].
1-17           SECTION 2.  Section 794.035(d), Health and Safety Code, is
1-18     amended to read as follows:
1-19           (d)  Subsection (a)(4) does not apply to the  board of a
1-20     district located wholly in one county [The board of a district
1-21     located wholly in one  county shall include in the report required
1-22     under Subsection (a)(4):]
1-23                 [(1)  the number and type of emergency responses made
1-24     within and outside the district;]
 2-1                 [(2)  a listing of all debt incurred by the district;
 2-2     and]
 2-3                 [(3)  any other financial matter required by order of
 2-4     the commissioners court].
 2-5           SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
 2-6           SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
 2-7     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
 2-8     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
 2-9     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
2-10     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
