 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to the composition of the University of North Texas
 1-9     System.
1-10           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11           SECTION 1.  The chapter heading to Chapter 105, Education
1-12     Code, is amended to read as follows:
1-13                  CHAPTER 105.  UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS SYSTEM
1-14           SECTION 2.  Subchapter A, Chapter 105, Education Code, is
1-15     amended by adding Section 105.005 to read as follows:
1-16           Sec. 105.005.  UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS SYSTEM.  The
1-17     University of North Texas System is composed of:
1-18                 (1)  the University of North Texas; and
1-19                 (2)  the University of North Texas Health Science
1-20     Center at Fort Worth.
1-21           SECTION 3.  Section 105.11, Education Code, is amended to
1-22     read as follows:
1-23           Sec. 105.11.  BOARD OF REGENTS.  The organization, control,
1-24     and management of the University of North Texas System and each
1-25     component institution of the system [university] is vested in a
1-26     board of nine regents appointed by the governor and confirmed by
1-27     the senate.
1-28           SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-29     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-30     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-31     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-32     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-33     and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
1-34     passage, and it is so enacted.
