                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to the form of a certificate of title for a rebuilt
 1-3     salvage motor vehicle.
 1-4           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-5           SECTION 1.  Section 501.0923, Transportation Code, is amended
 1-6     by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
 1-7           (c)  The words required by Subsection (b)(1) must:
 1-8                 (1)  be in capital letters and in red ink;
 1-9                 (2)  occupy the middle portion of the certificate of
1-10     title and at least 15 percent of the certificate; and
1-11                 (3)  be printed in a manner that allows a person to
1-12     read the other words on the certificate.
1-13           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-14           SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-15     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-16     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-17     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-18     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
