                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                       AN ACT
 1-1     relating to requests for attorney general decisions under the
 1-2     public information law.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1.  Section 552.301, Government Code, is amended by
 1-5     adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
 1-6           (c)  A governmental body is prohibited from asking for a
 1-7     decision from the attorney general about whether information
 1-8     requested under this chapter is within an exception under
 1-9     Subchapter C if:
1-10                 (1)  the governmental body has previously requested and
1-11     received a determination from the attorney general concerning the
1-12     precise information at issue in a pending request; or
1-13                 (2)  a previous determination by a court or the
1-14     attorney general has been made regarding a specific, clearly
1-15     delineated category of information to which the requested
1-16     information belongs.
