AN ACT 1-1 relating to forming a professional association for the practice of 1-2 dentistry. 1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-4 SECTION 1. Subsection (A), Section 2, Professional 1-5 Association Act (Article 1528f, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is 1-6 amended to read as follows: 1-7 (A) Formation. Any one or more persons duly licensed to 1-8 practice a profession, including podiatry or dentistry, under the 1-9 laws of this state may, by complying with this Act, form a 1-10 professional association, as distinguished from either a 1-11 partnership or a corporation, by associating themselves for the 1-12 purpose of performing professional services and dividing the gains 1-13 therefrom as stated in articles of association or bylaws. 1-14 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1999. 1-15 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I hereby certify that S.B.
