                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                       AN ACT
 1-1     relating to specifying salaries in teacher employment contracts
 1-2     prior to requiring acceptance.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1.  Section 21.102, Education Code, is amended by
 1-5     adding subsection (d) to read as follows:
 1-6           (d)  Before a teacher is required to accept or reject a
 1-7     teacher employment contract, that contract must include the amount
 1-8     of compensation being offered for each year of the contract.
 1-9           SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-10     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-11     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-12     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-13     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
1-14     and that this Act take effect and be in force according to its
1-15     terms, and it is so enacted.
