 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to the ingredients used in the production of alcoholic
 1-9     beverages.
1-10           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11           SECTION 1.  Section 101.65, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is
1-12     amended to read as follows:
1-13           Sec. 101.65.  BEVERAGES MADE FROM CERTAIN MATERIALS
1-14     PROHIBITED.  No person may manufacture, import, sell, or possess
1-15     for the purpose of sale an alcoholic beverage made from:
1-16                 (1)  [dried grapes, dried fruits, or dried berries;]
1-17                 [(2)]  any compound made from synthetic materials;
1-18                 (2) [(3)]  substandard wines;
1-19                 (3) [(4)]  imitation wines; or
1-20                 (4) [(5)]  must concentrated at any time to more than
1-21     80 degrees Balling.
1-22           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-23           SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-24     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-25     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-26     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-27     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
