 1-6                            A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-7                                   AN ACT
 1-8     relating to the creation of the County Criminal Court No. 11 of
 1-9     Dallas County, Texas.
1-10           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-11           SECTION 1.  Subsection (b), Section 25.0591, Government Code,
1-12     is amended to read as follows:
1-13           (b)  Dallas County has the following county criminal courts:
1-14                 (1)  County Criminal Court of Dallas County, Texas;
1-15                 (2)  County Criminal Court No. 2 of Dallas County,
1-16     Texas;
1-17                 (3)  County Criminal Court No. 3 of Dallas County,
1-18     Texas;
1-19                 (4)  County Criminal Court Number Four of Dallas
1-20     County, Texas;
1-21                 (5)  County Criminal Court Number Five of Dallas
1-22     County, Texas;
1-23                 (6)  County Criminal Court Number 6 of Dallas County,
1-24     Texas;
1-25                 (7)  County Criminal Court Number 7 of Dallas County,
1-26     Texas;
1-27                 (8)  County Criminal Court No. 8 of Dallas County,
1-28     Texas;
1-29                 (9)  County Criminal Court No. 9 of Dallas County,
1-30     Texas; [and]
1-31                 (10)  County Criminal Court No. 10 of Dallas County,
1-32     Texas; and
1-33                 (11)  County Criminal Court No. 11 of Dallas County,
1-34     Texas.
1-35           SECTION 2.  Section 25.0593, Government Code, is amended by
1-36     adding Subsection (b) to read as follows:
1-37           (b)  The County Criminal Court No. 11 of Dallas County,
1-38     Texas, shall give preference to cases designated by an order signed
1-39     by a majority of the judges of the county criminal courts of Dallas
1-40     County.
1-41           SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-42           SECTION 4.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-43     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-44     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-45     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-46     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
