                                A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 1-1                                   AN ACT
 1-2     relating to contributions to the State Pension Review Board.
 1-3           BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 1-4           SECTION 1.  Section 801.113, Government Code, is amended by
 1-5     adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
 1-6           (g)  Notwithstanding Subsection (c), the Teacher Retirement
 1-7     System of Texas and the Employees Retirement System of Texas each
 1-8     shall make an annual contribution of $200,000 to the board for
 1-9     services performed by the board for the systems.  The contributions
1-10     are payable in a lump sum or in installments as provided by the
1-11     respective retirement systems.  The contributions shall be
1-12     deposited to the credit of the State Pension Review Board fund.
1-13           SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1999.
1-14           SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
1-15     crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-16     emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-17     constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-18     days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
