SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, The marriage of two fine people is hailed as a
 1-2     joyous event accompanied by much preparation and anticipation by
 1-3     all parties involved; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mary Jane Smith Farmer and Billie Gene Hollowell of
 1-5     the United States Air Force, Retired, were united in matrimony on
 1-6     January 16, 1999, in Grand Saline, Texas; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, The groom is the former dean of the Texas House; he
 1-8     served his constituents superbly for 14 terms and retired from the
 1-9     house following the 71st Legislature; and
1-10           WHEREAS, With mutual regard and love stemming from sentiment
1-11     and affection, the devoted couple embarked on a journey which will
1-12     be guided by their faith in each other and their zest for life; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Relatives and friends shared their felicitous warmth
1-14     and happiness in full measure as the couple brought two groups of
1-15     loved ones together; and
1-16           WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature is pleased to send warmest
1-17     congratulations to Mary Jane and Billie Gene as they begin their
1-18     new life; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-20     hereby honor Major General and Mrs. Billie Gene Hollowell on the
1-21     special occasion of their marriage and express sincere wishes for
1-22     their happiness in the future; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for them
1-24     as an expression of the high regard and esteem of the Texas
 2-1     Legislature.
